persistance

I want to let everyone out there know (my swarming masses of fans really,) that failer is important. probly more important than success even.
this will be my third play tryout since i came to high school, im pretty optomistic about this one because i have practiced for this DAY and NIGHT and it better come out ok or i swear i will walk out in traffic.
coffee flavored granola bars help ease the pain though.
as far as knitting goes im pretty pathetic, dad sock still yet to be cast on, scrap sock 1 halfway done, harvest mittens 3/4 done
please wish me luck by your preferred method (praying, thinking, chanting.,ect)

Im still getting the hang of this blog thing ok?!?!?!?!

confused?

ok, here goes:
ALPAKA SAGA:
1.picked up alpaka sweater knitted a couple rows decided to make it a vest.
2.knitted 6 rows in garter stitch to sfinish the bottom, cast off, tried on "vest" it flared out so bad it made me look like a human mushroom.
3. riped back six rows picked up 140 st. ribbed k1,p1, for about 8 rows, cast off.
4. tried on alpaka "vest" liked the feel so much decided to go with the origional sweater idea.
*sigh*
now im on the arms looks like it still could redeem its self

P.S. finished dad sock ( the first one that is)

ARRGGG

Pirates!
these socks are sooooooooo.
well they went all fast at first, all nice and quick. now as the yarn harlot would say the time- space continueum comes to a stop when i pick them up.
well im now knitting some nice arm warmers to keep me from stabbing pepole. Its not to late to convert them to a strait-jacket.

size 6

That is not my clothing size.
But my shoe = sock size of course! So I have been happy with the benifits of haveing small feet and thusly small socks. its strange when you try to do good and it seems like there is a force trying to stop it. Im knitting the "gentelmens shooting socks" from knitting vintage socks. (Its my only knitting pattern book) for my father, who wheres a size 9 in mens. The pattern originaly stated to knit on size zeros. Well. HELL NO. so im knitting them on size ones for him. I just think that regular pepole dont understand how much work and devotion goes into one sock.
giveing makes me happy, giving makes me happy, giving makes me happy.

Some Day

Today was.......uh.......well ok. I guess.
on second monkey. i really need to put that bugger on two point needles.
I mean jeeze, it has 3 reapeats insterd of an even number of course.
THREE THINGS ABOUT KNITTING FOR NEW KNITTERS, OR KNITTERS WHO ARE FRUSTURATED:
1.If you hate your knitting, it hates you back.
2.odd numbers are cursed.
3.a-symetrical things rarely look good knitted, and never look good on.
i would do more but, i have to go have a stareing contest with the 2ed monkey sock.
im watching cops.....the cheeta print-bathing suite-clad-trucker is on.

very accomplished

I suppose your guessing (by the tital) that i got a lot done today. Well that my dear freinds is called sarcasm, and i use it quite a bit. So basicly i sat around all day and watched top chef. I do like that show. I personally would never go on reality T.V. Im convinced it makes even the sanest pepole totally nuts. Mabey this is only wishfull thinking, mabey there really is that many morons in America.
Actually i got LOTS of knitting done, probly a small amount for most sock knitters. There all so darn fast.

Oops

Do forgive me for repeting myself, i am old and senile. But im just so exited about this dang conditioner!!!

(if hayley was technically inclined at all a picture of her texas-sized hair would follow but, alas!)

Shortie

Well actually all my posts are sort of short,
but i dont really have pictures to do the work for me. So my hair is the size of texas right now, i have switched conditioners and im really embraceing this big hair thing. Hazel would tell me ( if she were here now, or if shei is now reading this) "you dont now nothin' about BIG HAIR"
but im coming along to it. My hair is just a free spirit.
so im knitting these freakin, darn, bugger monkey socks who i thought were gonna be a breeze. yes, well, thay are definitly not. luckly my trusty pal GFJ has a PhD in monkey socks.
Snb the other night was a hoot.
well this is actually an averaged sized post. oh well

strange

I experianced something odd the other day (aplogies for not posting)
I found my self reluctant, now im reluctant to do a fair manty things: the orthodontist, weed the garden, clean. But never, ever (EVER) have i been reluctant to knit. Could this be the age-old second sock syndrome???? quite possible. my knitting colluegues will be less than smpathetic im shure. Its the darned gentelmens socks. Those buggers are, well, lets just say i know not of a woman who would knit them for any man. Ill talk more about it later its quite painfull.
I tried a new conditioner today, for pepole with curly hair. oooohhh, What is this curly you speak of Hayley?
oh yhea thats how my hair really is.

Ambitious

Now, Its on
Its fair isle sweaters now.
green flece jacket (she asked to be callled this) because the other name was fat head. today i took a little trip to ewe knits, my local yarnery. Altho i doubt thay can hardly be called that, thay dont have lambs pride or noro. true, you cant hold a candle to their lornas laces.
Yep so to clear up the whole fair isle sweater thing (shure i spelled that wrong) i have knitted half a sweater my knitting carrer and its dead boring. Fair isle sweaters are, what some would say, challengeing. GFJ (green flece jacket) is gonna hook me up w/ a pattern.

"all the worlds a stage"

Yhea whatever, shakespere.
At my school im in drama. I really dont know why. We are putting on a boring, snore-fest little poetry reading thing. Its so all the grandparents can go and scream "thats my baby!!!" for there little kid.
Oh boy
i couldent do justice by explaneing the extent of my stage fright.
my theater teacher is just a short dramatic man, who wouldent here my pleas of "im not even really in drama, im a visual art kid", so yhea as ushual I lost to the system and now I have a poem about ants burned into my mind.
Ill take some Klonopin and It will be all good.

work-out

So today was a lovely day full of accomplishment.
first i went for a nice long bike ride
then i came home and finally weeded the garden, i need to find (or buy, or magically accumulate) some pine needles so that all my poor neglected plants dont croak.
If i could rant for just one minuet about global warming: while i was wageing war on the crab grass in my flower bed i noted several very peculular things, my spring bulbs were sprouting, my nahboirs 8-year-old-foster-child was running circles around the yard claiming it was spring, the sky was blue. It was nice out. Are we all going to die or what?
rant over.
by the way went to www.quizzes.com and took the "what yarn are you?" I am proud to claim the tital of merino.....And i dident even lie.
there are double edged sords on the test though, on freind of mine got mohair. Thats a matter of personal opinion though, you can get acrilic.
tonight i get out of the house once more for SnB
Yep, at borders
sue me.

sweet, Its blog time
so my name is Hayley as you know by the tital of this blog i enjoy knitting to a frightining extreme. I am currently knitting the so called `gentelmans sock' by Nancy Bush from "Knitting vintage socks" thay are very girly, i cannot imagine why on earth a gentalman would were them.
I am knitting them in knit picks stripes givin to me by my lovely freind + fellow sock addict Rachel or therachface. if you get an opertunity, do read her blog to embaress her.
next i have my eye on the monkeys from knitty, thay look nice with there size 2 gauge
compare to the 0's im knittin with now. finished christmas scarf for dear freind. that bugger was haunting me (the scarf, not the dear freind)
Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day everyone, and lets all try and, oh i dont know be dedicated to something we beive in.
